Marketing research industry statistics

Hello,

I am doing some research on the marketing research industry. Can anyone provide any pointers on where I can get specific data on:
1. Size of the industry in the US and the UK (total expenditure on marketing research)
2. The proportion of spend on research done in-house, versus that which is outsourced
