Reaching visually and hearing impaired individuals

Does anyone have experience trying to recruit individuals that are either visually or hearing impaired for FG/IDI research? My two questions are:

1) How did you obtain the contact lists for this hard-to-reach population?

In general, I'd love to hear about any others' experience conducting research with these populations.
