I am doing some volunteer work and the "organization" insists on an unbalanced scale to measure their visitor opinions. I have seen research that states an unbalanced scale is acceptable if you an a priori reason to believe none of the responses will be on one extreme or the other, which is their argument. I would like to use a balanced scale with this organization. Any opinions?
