Senior Research Manager

We are seeking a Senior Research Manager in our Toronto office who will hold an important client-facing position leading innovative research as part of our Public Affairs team. As a member of our rapidly growing Public Affairs Consulting practice, you will help to influence our future growth and success by being a leading team member for our strategic client engagements, including proposal writing, research design, analysis, recommendations and presenting results. The Senior Research Manager plays a key role on the team, helping to lead projects and accounts, while at the same time working with sector leaders to understand topical business issues and evolving research approaches including proprietary and branded insights communities. You will be responsible for managing strategic projects for specific key accounts the Public Affairs division from start to finish and will be involved in all stages of the study design, from proposals through to final presentations.

You are an accomplished and respected researcher with proven experience in using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to provide strategic insight and research to clients while nurturing client relationships. You are curious in understanding the “why” behind the results and are an “our of the box” thinker when it comes to insight and consultation. You are comfortable with technology and never rest with the status quo. You have a reputation for impeccable client management, creativity, innovation, attention to detail and strategic insight in the delivery of research results and consultative recommendations – in short, providing proactive, creative, and enthusiastic service that “wows” your clients. Experience in the Public Affairs sector, either on the client side or supplier side is an asset.

Responsibilities:
Lead multiple complex research engagements, serving as a client contact, communicating study progress, and resolving any issues
Initiate strategic and creative delivery of research design, analysis and reporting
Understand the appropriate use of advanced analytics, sampling and weighting
Conduct client presentations and results discussions to ensure project success
Expand the use of MARU VCR&C’s services with current accounts for ongoing revenue growth
Ensure hands-on quality control throughout the entire project process
Ability to write enticing proposals to win key projects and programs

Experience:
5+ years related work experience in marketing research with a minimum of 3 years’ experience on the supplier side
Ability to design studies, write questionnaires and plan/ create insightful and actionable reports
Ability to coordinate other research and operations staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of managing all aspects of quantitative research project work
Experience managing multiple complex, high value projects simultaneously
Experience with wide range of research methodologies and techniques
Experience working with a wide variety of online research methods
Proficient use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Will need an appreciation of computer systems and a good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Past experience with community panel management a plus
Minimum BA/BSc required
