In the position of Survey Programmer, you will be responsible for ensuring survey instruments are accurately and efficiently programmed; providing an engaging respondent experience with a focus on accurate data collection and ease of backend data manipulation. As a Survey Programmer on our team you will work closely with Research Analysts, Project Managers, and Research Directors to meet the strategic research needs of our B2B clients in construction, food & beverage, manufacturing, mechanical systems, packaging, and security industries.
Daily activities may include:
- Online (web) survey programming, checking, implementation and fieldwork monitoring
- Scheduling and deploying survey invites
- Work with third-party programming platforms on technical set-up, review, testing
- Coordinating with outside research agencies or suppliers as needed
- Troubleshooting survey design/data collection efforts
- Sample management
- Data cleaning
- Macro development to support report automation/development
- Results dashboard design and automation efforts
The job requires a detail oriented, logical problem solver, who can clearly communicate with team members to resolve any related challenges which arise. Specific skills to be successful in this role include:
- Knowledge of market research preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to “think outside the box”
- Demonstrated knowledge of data structures, understanding of conditions (i.e. if, else if, else), iterations, loops, and selectors
- Experience with programming languages a plus (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Demonstrated ability to use tables, frames, etc. for placement of content and content layout across browser types (i.e compliant HTML)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, Power Point
- Experience programming within one or more survey platforms (Qualtrics and/or Decipher preferred)
- Knowledge of Marketsight, Tableau, and SPSS
- Experience with Google Analytics an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal and team skills
- Ability to set and achieve goals
