Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager's primary role will be to drive new sales and build on existing client relationships. They are responsible for both identifying and selling to new clients while continuing to develop and grow business with existing clients. The Business Development Manager must be able to establish effective rapport with appropriate client executives to understand their business and competitive intelligence needs. The Business Development Manager works collaboratively with the delivery leadership team to deliver accurate proposals for service. The role requires the Business Development Manager to own the sales process from account identification and qualification to strategy, proposal, reporting, and closing phases. They work collaboratively with the Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate the delivery and organization of key business sales objectives and, under the supervision of the Director of Sales, to support the sales of world-class, actionable competitive intelligence to clients by exemplifying Proactive Worldwide, Inc.’s core values.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement business development strategies to expand client base.

  • Be a diligent “hunter” by qualifying, identifying, and closing new accounts and sales opportunities
  • Prospect for new business within existing accounts in new indications / adjacent verticals
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with all customers
  • Retain and grow existing account base
  • Achieve assigned performance metrics by developing a pipeline
  • Develop and make presentations about custom research solutions to prospects and customers
  • Lead the sales process from end-to-end, from introductions to close, engaging appropriate delivery staff as required
  • Be a collaborative team member with delivery staff to create winning proposals and effectively influence prospects
  • Establish effective rapport with appropriate client executives to understand their business and competitive intelligence needs.
  • Support Engagement Managers and other team members to maintain and improve customer satisfaction levels
  • Populate CRM system with all sales and opportunity activity
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, specifically selling business solutions, professional solutions and/or advisory services.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the consumer and industrial goods, technology, finance, or healthcare verticals.
  • Research or competitive intelligence experience a plus
  • Selling Voice of Customer, pricing, and competitive intelligence services a plus
  • Consistently ranked in the top half of the sales team
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using a CRM system for activity reporting
  • A college degree in a business, marketing, economics, or related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with external and internal clients
  • Advanced listening and questioning skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including group presentations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to assimilate new information quickly
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
