As a part of Research, AlphaWise is an entrepreneurial team that delivers data-driven research to Morgan Stanley’s investment analysts, spanning 80+ sectors across the globe. From the curation of proprietary research to drawing upon big data, this team applies analytics to uncover insights and partners with analysts to shape compelling views on stocks, sectors and investment debates. AlphaWise is seeking an intellectually curious, quantitative, primary researcher to run projects of interest to the investment community.
We are looking for a primary researcher in surveys to join our team in New York, NY.
The primary responsibilities are but are not limited to:
- Partner with the research teams to understand investment debates in their sectors and translate into market research objectives and an approach
- Oversee survey projects from beginning to end (sampling and methodology design, questionnaire development, test link checking, field monitoring, and data tabulation/analysis)
- Apply research and data analysis techniques to develop hypotheses, analyze study results and uncover findings
- Present findings in a clear and concise way and collaborate with research teams to weave insights and implications into analyst publications
- Mine other primary and secondary market research data and collaborate with counterparts to enhance studies and publications
- Stay current with industry and macroeconomic trends impacting markets under coverage
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in conducting quantitative primary research across industries, mediums (e.g. online, telephone, in-person interviews), geographies (N.A., Europe, Asia) and business models (B2B, B2C)
- Proven ability to integrate and synthesize research information from multiple sources, delivering value-added insights and recommendations
- Strong client servicing and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Market Research, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Business or a related field
- Experience in statistical modeling and analysis, along with using data visualization tools are a plus
- Experience with Qualtrics or other DIY survey platforms, MarketSight, Q Research Software, SPSS is a plus
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
