Reports to VP, Analytics

Our client is a national CPG leader seeking a tenacious, motivated and experienced Data Science guru to define processes, techniques and technology to extract, manage, and analyze data in a scalable way, and to make use of this data to improve capabilities to deliver personalized digital media. The person in this role will work closely with a small team within the Analytics Department, and also will have direct communication with Analytics leadership to execute key strategies.

This skill set requires a skillset of machine learning models, mine data to detect for patterns, oppty’s and insights, utilizing an appropriate suite of software with a data product as the end goal. Key areas of expertise will include big data, statistics, predictive modeling, recommender systems, and machine learning implementation.

Applicants should hold:
• A Bachelors’ degree in a quantitative field – Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Decision Science or other quant based track
• A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in building machine learning models in h2o, including linear / logistic regression, tree-based models and SVMs.
• Experience with Python and/or R; advanced knowledge of SQL; some exp w/Hadoop.
• Strong data background i.e., ability to extract, transform, clean data sets from multiple sources.
• Experience designing and analyzing experiments to measure the impact of marketing campaigns. This includes sampling techniques and testing for statistical significance.
• CPG or retail is preferred.
• Good presentation skill set
