The Consumer Insights Specialist will help to facilitate the research efforts for the Consumer organization. They will be accountable for assessing the learning needs for the business and developing an effective and efficient learning plan to address those needs. They will have strong business advisory skills, research expertise and experience turning insights into actionable business recommendations. This role reports to the Director of Consumer Insights.
Provide Business Thought Leadership: Partner with business teams in framing business issues, opportunities and strategies. Champion the voice of the consumer in cross-functional business forums and key decisions.
Provide Consumer Insights Functional Leadership: Develop clear connection between business issue/opportunity, key hypotheses, and research objectives and methodologies.
This is a progression position and could be a level II or III. Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate’s experience and education, and current business needs.
Drives a variety of primary research projects (qualitative and quantitative) from inception to presentation across the marketing organization with insights and actionable recommendations for the business teams.
Ability to understand, integrate and synthesize primary and secondary data to form insightful observations and clear, actionable implications. Contributes to communication strategy including helping with development of marketing collateral, presentation development and communication.
Contributes to development and analysis of competitive and customer intelligence, best practice and benchmarking development
Resourcefulness and expertise in budgeting with external vendors for scheduling and coordination of services as well as costing projects and coordinating survey programming
Effectively communicate research findings, and make recommendations across the organization
Strong report writing skills
Identify insights through use of social media and other tools to understand consumer, shopper and retailer trends and uncover business opportunities
Proficient in factor analysis, perceptual mapping, conjoint analysis, multiple regression, discriminant analysis, and discrete choice modeling.
Experience in framing business problem to solve and translating into holistic learning plans
Experience designing and implementing a variety of qualitative and quantitative research tools and methodologies, and the appropriate interpretation and application of learnings. These include screening/questionnaire development, focus groups, ethnographies, in-depth interviews (IDI’s), category and competitive landscape assessment, consumer profiling, brand perceptions and choice drivers/barriers, etc.
Ability to take data and/or inputs and develop learnings about what the data holds
Ability to work with a cross functional team and communicate results effectively
Ability to interact with a diverse consumer audience
Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple requests, program shifts as required
Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and work independently, with little or no supervision
Adaptable in fast-paced environments, while remaining proactive and efficient
Understand and monitor global consumer trends, retail trends and shopper trends.
Present a positive image, and promote the insights team with confidence and enthusiasm
Strong written and verbal skills
High personal motivation and sense of urgency
Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, Social Media, Sharepoint, Word, etc.

Bachelors degree required (strong preference in Business with a focus in Marketing), Masters strongly preferred
5+ years of experience in Market Research plus CPG research experience
Certifications in moderating training and report writing and presenting skills (internal and external)
