Market Research (Senior) Project Director

Clarion Research is seeking to add a Project Director to our Custom Quantitative and Qualitative team!
Responsibilities to include:
- Oversight of custom quantitative and qualitative market research projects with increasingly less supervision required over time.
- Drafting screeners, questionnaires, and moderator guides.
- Testing questionnaire programming logic to ensure research participants receive appropriate questions based on their responses.
- Managing respondent recruitment and overseeing fieldwork.
- Partnering with other team members in leading online discussion groups (bulletin boards).
- Developing codebooks and coding of verbatims (open-ended responses).
- Careful proofing of questionnaires, guides, data files, data tables, reports and other deliverables as needed.
- Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to uncover insights.
- Partnering with team members to develop reports in PowerPoint.
- Supporting aspects of Clarion’s ongoing tracking studies, as needed.
- Occasionally contributing to the development of proposals and cost estimates in response to client RFPs (requests for proposal).
- Potentially conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups (depending on interest and skill levels).
- Interacting regularly with clients and partners.

Required Qualifications:
- 2-5+ years of experience at a Market Research Supplier or with a very hands-on Corporate Market Research group.
- Strong experience in quantitative research, coupled either with qualitative experience, or an interest in developing skills in qualitative research.
- Critical thinker who asks questions, thinks ahead, and has strong problem-solving skills.
- Extremely strong attention to detail and highly accurate proofing skills; self-motivated to ensure work is completed correctly.
- Experienced with PowerPoint - able to quickly and accurately create visually appealing charts from data tabulations.
- Strong experience with Excel (e.g., pivot tables, xlookups, macros) and a desire to learn more.
- Strong quantitative skills and highly comfortable with numbers.
- Solid work-ethic, trustworthy, and highly responsive to clients and co-workers.
- Highly organized – practices active listening, note-taking, and documentation of work processes.
- Able to work effectively independently, as well as when partnering with team members.
- Able to multi-task and meet tight schedules, with a proven ability to exhibit grace and professionalism under pressure.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Flexible and open to working extra hours occasionally, when needed (we strive to keep this to a minimum).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Business, Statistics, Communications, Journalism); Associate’s degree considered if other qualifications are strong.
Not required – but highly valued …
- Ability to create an appropriate strawman report with limited direction.
- Ability to write accurate and insightful text for reports.
- Experience recruiting participants for qualitative research.
- Comfort developing tab and banner plans.
- Experience running data tabulations (or interest in learning).
- Experience with any potentially relevant software/platforms (e.g., SPSS, Q, DisplayR, R, Power BI, Decipher, Access, SQL, Python, Qualtrics, WinCross).
- Familiarity with statistical analyses (e.g., correlations, regression, Discrete Choice, Max-Diff).
- Prior experience with conducting in-depth interviews (IDIs), leading online discussion forums (bulletin boards), and/or moderating focus groups.
- Ability to speak other languages in addition to English.
This a virtual position to be filled in the U.S. with a schedule based on East Coast hours.

Clarion is open to considering more senior candidates with a demonstrated ability to manage a larger/more complex project load for the role of Senior Project Director (salary range: $80,000-$100,000)
