Project Manager

10k Humans  | TX, US

Fully Remote, (Austin)

Salary: $50,000–$70,000
Negotiable Based on Experience

Project Manager (Market Research – but not the kind you’re used to)

We’re 10k Humans. We find real people for research. Not “panel clicks,” not bots, not professional survey takers via outsourced panel suppliers. We recruit real humans with real opinions.

And the way we do it is… different.

So if you’re a traditional market research Project Manager who’s used to just managing timelines and vendors—this probably isn’t your thing.

If you like figuring out how to actually find the right people, keep reading.

What this role actually is

You’ll be running projects end-to-end, yes. You’ll be client-facing, yes. But the core of this role is recruitment.

Not calling from a list.

Not blasting a database over and over and hoping for an outcome.

You’re building and executing recruitment strategies to find very specific audiences out in the real world.

That means recruiting people using a variety of creative methods online and offline when needed. Think social media, forums, etc.

Every project is different. Every audience is different. There’s no rinse-and-repeat here.

This is active recruitment. And it’s a big part of what makes us good.

The client side of things

You’re also the face of the project.

Clients should never wonder what’s going on. You’re ahead of them before they even ask.

  • Proactive updates
  • Clear communication
  • Managing expectations (without overpromising)
  • Solving problems before they become problems

We take this part seriously. It’s how we rebuild trust and keep clients coming back.

What you’ll be doing day to day

It’s a mix of:

  • Owning project timelines and deliverables
  • Building and executing recruitment strategies for each study
  • Managing screeners, re-screens, and participant flow
  • Working with automations, and internal tools to keep things moving
  • Coordinating with internal teams (programming, Ops etc.)
  • Keeping everything organized, documented, and on track

It moves fast. Deadlines are real. Things change mid-project. You adapt and keep it moving.

What you need to be good at

  • Very comfortable with tech (and not afraid to learn new tools quickly)
  • Strong with systems, automations, and figuring out better ways to do things
  • Able to think strategically about how to find people, not just manage a project
  • Clear, confident communicator with clients
  • Organized, but not rigid—you can handle a bit of chaos
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

What makes this role different

Most PM roles in research stop at coordination.

Ours don’t.

You’re responsible for actually making the recruit happen.

That means:

  • You own the outcome
  • You figure out the path
  • You adjust when it’s not working

There’s a creative element to this job that most PM roles don’t have.

Some days you’re analyzing screener traffic. Some days you’re figuring out how to reach a super niche audience no one’s been able to find. Some days you’re deep in client comms making sure everything stays smooth.

If you’re reading this and thinking “this sounds like a lot”…

It is.

But it’s also a lot more interesting than managing the same project flow over and over again! If this sounds like a fun challenge- we'd love to hear from you!

  1. At least 3 years experience in qualitative market research project management and/or recruiting.
  2. At least 2 years experience communicating directly with clients on a day-to-day bases
  3. A willingness to think outside of the box and get creative!
