Qualitative Marketing Research Analyst
MLN Research is seeking a Qualitative Research Analyst to join our insights team. Our work is primarily focused on kids, teens, and families, with occasional projects involving adult audiences. We manage research projects in the US and around the world, primarily in the consumer product goods space.
We are looking for a motivated professional with a relevant background in marketing research or consumer insights who is ready to jump in with both feet. This role is designed for someone who is energetic, highly organized, and eager to grow into a senior research role. You will work closely with our Senior Managers and Research Directors, providing critical support across the entire research lifecycle while gaining the mentorship needed to advance your career.
The Research Analyst is responsible for supporting qualitative research projects from end-to-end—from project setup and recruitment management to analysis and storytelling. This role requires a "can-do" team player who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and has a passion for uncovering the "why" behind consumer behavior.
This is a full-time, primarily remote position, with preference for candidates based in the Eastern time zone (NC preferred). Occasional travel and in-person work during active research projects is required.

- Manage fieldwork and recruiting logistics in partnership with field facilities to ensure projects stay on track and participants meet high standards.
- Support the moderation process by managing virtual platforms, taking detailed notes during sessions, and assisting with in-person logistics.
- Participate in the in-field research process with a goal of moving toward independent moderation and project management.
Analysis, Reporting & Storytelling
- Synthesize qualitative data (e.g., transcripts, recordings, notes) to identify key themes and emerging insights.
- Contribute to the development of actionable insights for client deliverables.
- Produce high-quality client reports in PowerPoint, ensuring strong attention to detail, polished grammar, and compelling visual storytelling.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (ideally in Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field).
- Experience: 1-2 years in marketing research, consumer insights, or a related analytical field.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint is essential; comfort with Excel and virtual meeting platforms (Teams) is required.
- Attributes: High energy, self-motivated, and a proactive "jump in" attitude. You should be a collaborative team player who takes pride in the quality of your work.
- Travel: Willingness to travel and work in-person during field research projects as needed.

- Fully Remote (East Coast U.S. only; NC preferred)
- Salary range: $65,000-$75,000 USD + performance bonus
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
