Mintel seeks an enthusiastic Research Analyst to join our US Food and Drink Research Team. Candidates must have experience generating analysis and insight from a wide range of research sources, coupled with a good understanding of the issues impacting the food and beverage industry.


The Research Analyst works as part of a team of Analysts, sharing ideas and insight, while taking ownership of specific product areas. Main responsibilities include researching, writing and updating reports, presenting findings to clients, dealing with client queries, and working with Mintels sales and marketing/PR teams.

Responsibilities

Research and writing:
• Employ a wide range of research tools, including primary and secondary sources alongside quantitative and qualitative consumer research.
• Create insightful, relevant analysis of food and beverage markets and key industry issues.

Insight generation:
• Turn consumer research findings, market data and industry knowledge into actionable insights
• Develop written reports and convey findings and recommendations to clients and industry figures.

Relationship building:
• Interact with a wide variety of clients ranging from small marketing agencies to multi-national foodservice giants
• Provide insight directly to clients around key trends and product activity, in-person, via phone and through webinars.
• Conduct trade interviews in order to gain insight into the key issues facing the industry.
• Maintain daily contact with a wide range of colleagues in other areas of the company including Global Analysts, Research Services, Sales, PR and Marketing teams.

• Bachelors Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a research, marketing, branding or consulting role within the food and beverage industry.
• In depth understanding of the US consumer and the ability to translate this into actionable recommendations.
• A talent for seeing the patterns behind data, and understanding what these patterns might mean for consumers and the companies serving those consumers.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
• Proven intellectual and problem solving skills to really get to the heart of the critical business issues.
• The ability to communicate difficult concepts in a clear, straightforward way.
• Exceptional communication skills, written and oral.
• Demonstrated presentation skills for large audiences and individual clients
