Research Manager

Salary: $50,000–$70,000
Salary range is $53,000 - $60,000. Please submit salary history and requirements with cover letter.
The Research Manager designs and executes research studies to provide useful information to the members, industry associations, and seeks to monetize these efforts among non-members. In addition, (s)he provides research services as needed for other association purposes.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Manages all data collection and other research efforts on behalf of the association.
Works with dedicated volunteer members to develop data collection content, design, writing, published report and messaging.
Uses online data collection platform to program and test all association research.
Coordinates with other industry associations on similar industry data collection, findings, and messaging.
Using only the in-house capabilities available, tabulates all data.
Prepares written analytical reports for distribution to participants and sale to all other interested parties.
Partners with the marketing team to send participation invitations and promote research products and services.
Presents findings whenever possible at meetings and events.
Generally, advocates the importance and usefulness of research to the association members, allied partners and IAVM staff members.
Provide strategic, research and analytical support for the association’s advocacy efforts with various federal agencies, state regulators, legislative bodies and other association advocacy groups.
Works with volunteer members of boards and committees to help them further and better advance their agendas and goals.
Assists the Membership Director with conducting data collection for an annual Member Satisfaction Survey, and provides interpretation of the results.
Assists all staff on an as-needed basis to help answer research questions or provide research services or advice.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple overlapping activities
• Attention to detail and the ability to establish and meet schedules and deadlines
• Experience in all major aspects of research including data collection, questionnaire design, online programming, verbal and written presentation of data and the acquired experience to perform independently without outside assistance
• Professionally represent the association
• Education: Bachelor’s degree. Experience may be substituted for education in the primary areas required for the position.
• Experience: At least two years at a research firm or in some other research capacity that included responsibility for questionnaire design, tabulation of results and analysis.
• Expertise with Qualtrics, Excel, PowerPoint and Word are absolutely critical.
