As a Senior Experience (UX) Researcher, you’ll work with teams to discover needs, uncover problems, and identify solutions that meaningfully improve people’s lives. You'll do this as a core member of a product team, partnering with other researchers, designers, engineers, and product managers to identify key questions and conduct studies across the entire product lifecycle. Through a collaborative approach and effective storytelling, you’ll produce insights that build empathy and drive action.
As a senior member of our UX practice, you’ll contribute toward shaping the direction of our team and championing human-centered design across our company. In return, you’ll work alongside an incredibly talented team who care deeply about the people who use our products.
Job Responsibilities
• Work with designers, engineers, product managers and other key stakeholders to proactively identify, coordinate, and conduct research across the product lifecycle.
• Synthesize findings across multiple types of research, ensuring conclusions are fair, statistically significant, and backed by good data.
• Present insights and recommendations that are clear, concise, and compelling to enhance everyone's understanding of our users and drive action by decision-makers.
• Ensure that handoffs are not just in the form of deliverables, and that teams see user interactions firsthand.
• Continuously push for increased user focus, enabling or actively organizing research and data-gathering that wasn't previously happening.
• Constantly advocate for empathy, ensuring that every conversation you have with your team involves user needs.
• Educate fellow researchers and colleagues on how best to approach problems, solicit feedback, and drive for impactful outcomes.
• Contribute to our research practice:
o Assist in establishing a framework for benchmarking, competitive analysis, and ROI metrics.
o Recommend and help implement improvements to our process, tools, and techniques.
o Develop and manage strong relationships with 3rd party research and data partners.
o Coordinate and manage our research panel, including recruitment, engagement, tracking, and incentives.
o Mentor and coach UX designers and researchers on the team.
Skills
• Research study management: Plan, coordinate, and schedule activities; monitor progress and budget; ensure dependencies are understood; inform stakeholders with pertinent and timely information; and identify and overcome roadblocks.
• Statistical analysis (confidence intervals, Z and T-tests) and product usage analytics.
• Familiarity with agile software development process.
• Proficiency with UserZoom, Qualtrics, and Miro.
• Familiarity with financial services, wealth management, financial advisors, and financial regulations helpful.
• Solid cross-functional collaboration, relationship building, and leadership skills.
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to lead discussions across teams, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to share their opinion and be heard, and that discussion outcomes tie to stated goals.
• College degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Research, Design, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in research, human-centered design, analytics, psychology, software design, or related field.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods used throughout the product lifecycle, with expertise in at least one.
