Vice President, Business Development

The Role

You will report to the President – Research Division, and work within the Business Development Team. You’ll play a critical role in leading our efforts in identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a seasoned sales and business development leader with a deep understanding of market research methodologies, industry trends, and client needs. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, research teams, and marketing to expand our client base and enhance our market presence.

Things You’ll Do

New Business Development

·         Identify and qualify potential new clients through market research, networking, and industry events

·         Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective client organizations

·         Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies

·         Contribute to the development and delivery of compelling brand narratives that effectively communicate the agency's unique value proposition

Client Growth and Retention

·         Proactively understand and anticipate client needs and priorities, driving a client-centric culture across the organization

·         Support the growth of existing accounts by identifying new opportunities within client engagements

·         Share client growth plans and learning across the organization

Sales Management & Performance

·         Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, identifying the day-to-day sales activities necessary to achieve sales goals

·         Track key prospect/client touchpoints and sales metrics including an up-to-date overview of sales pipeline and reliable forecast of future revenue

·         Analyze performance data, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize results

Education and Experience Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research or related; MBA preferred

·         15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the Market Research and Insights industry

·         Proven track record of building and maintaining successful client relationships

·         Ability to travel regularly for outreach/networking, conferences and client development

·         Ability to effectively represent the company and advance its reputation within the industry

·         History of inspiring teams with an empathetic and empowering approach

·         Strategic, creative, and critical thinker

·         Strong sense of ownership and accountability

·         Passion for the market research industry and a strong desire to contribute to the growth of a successful agency
