For the past six years, Quirk’s has conducted a salary survey of client- and provider-side researchers to give readers a snapshot of the compensation landscape and how it’s changing.

As 2014 comes to a close and we look ahead to 2015, we felt it only right to glance back at the last six years. Since Quirk’s first introduced the study at the height of the Great Recession, respondents have:

  • reported working long hours;
  • expected a salary increase (2009) and eventually saw a general bump in pay across all industries, regions and titles (2013);
  • seen short stretches of dissatisfaction in the workplace (2011, specifically); and
  • provided us with colorful comments on job compensation (such as the now-classic, “Enough for me but not when you include my ex-wife!”).

The latest salary survey drew over 3,700 responses, making it the industry’s largest. The data is available online and is searchable by client- or provider-side job title. Click on the job title and you can view a breakdown of salaries by age, gender, region, industry and more:

 Do you think there will be any big changes to client- or provider-side research salaries in 2015?
