The source for Medscape’s online market research sample is selected from our above outlined proprietary network of practicing health care professionals who join Medscape to access our clinical content (news, condition and drug information, journal articles), CME activities and clinical tools (pill identifier, drug interaction tool, clinical calculators). Health care professionals in the U.S. can opt-out of participating in market research but all other HCP’s who have registered on Medscape can be sampled for a study and are part of our “denominator.” Physicians in EU4 (U.K., Germany, Italy and Spain) opt in during registration.

Because of Medscape’s professional utility, approximately 60% of US physicians use it, giving Medscape unique access to a very broad array of health care providers with the ability to drill down to the MSA level.
